6 Vegan-Friendly Restaurants in Oahu

When traveling I always try to find the best vegan-friendly restaurants. While in Oahu, my husband and I discovered six awesome vegan-friendly spots! Overall I found that Oahu had vegan options throughout the island.

Blondies Vegan Kitchen – Food Truck

Blondies is an all-vegan food truck located in the Lowe’s Iwilei Nimitz parking lot. We decided to stop by here for lunch one day and it did not fail to impress us! I decided to have the Iron Man Sandwich which is made with their housemade vegan Chic’n, vegan egg, and vegan cheese. I was thoroughly impressed with the flavors in this sandwich! It even had a spice to it which I enjoyed. Dave isn’t a sandwich guy so he went with the Early Bird Breakfast Bowl. The breakfast bowl has mixed greens, roasted potatoes, vegan egg, vegan sausage, and pico de gallo. Overall we both enjoyed our food here and we would come back!

Tane Vegan Izakaya

While in Hawaii I wanted to have some sushi so we made reservations for Tane Vegan Izakaya. Here you will find a unique twist on sushi and everything is vegan. We started with the Gyoza starter. It is a pan-fried vegetable and tofu dumpling. Personally, this was one of my favs since I don’t get to have dumplings often. For the sushi, we ordered three rolls along with the mango nigiri. The Pacifica Roll was my personal favorite which tempura eggplant inside. The mango nigiri was delightful if you like pickled fruits and vegetables.

The Beet Box

While in Haleiwa we stopped by The Beet Box Cafe. We decided to stop by here in between lunch and dinner. We ordered the Rio Bowl and the Hello Burger. I had to try something with beets in it so I figured the Hello Burger would be perfect. It was very tasty and one of the best veggie burgers I have tried. I decided to get the side salad with it and could tell everything is fresh. The acai bowl was tasty as well and served in coconut bowls. You can tell they make their granola homemade although Dave said it was a bit salty.

Raised by the Waves

Raised by the Waves is a vegan food truck found in the North Shore. I went with the Baggers BLAT which is tempeh bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato. It also is placed on toasted sourdough bread and has red onions, housemade garlic aioli, mustard sauce, and a side of chips. This sandwich is so good, you wouldn’t even realize that it is vegan. For me, tempeh bacon is hit or miss but they know what they are doing at Raised by the Waves. Dave went with the Sunrise Waffle with he enjoyed. The Sunrise Waffle is gluten-free with strawberries, blueberries, bananas, cocoa powder and drizzle, maple syrup, almond butter, coconut whip, and hemp hearts. They also have beautiful acai bowls! If you want to enjoy the food truck scene on the North Shore, this is the place to be!

Banán

Banán is perfect if you’re looking for a vegan dessert. They offer dairy-free soft serve made from bananas. They also offer an acai version and shaved ice. I decided to go with the chocolate flavor, sliced strawberries, and topped with coconut cream. I enjoyed this as it was a nice break from acai bowls.

Kahuku Farms

Kahuku Farms is an honorable mention because it is vegetarian and not fully vegan. Overall, this was our favorite spot because their food and drinks are farm-to-table. It can’t get any fresher than that! We had the grilled veggie panini sandwich which can be made vegan if you remove the cheese and mayo. The vegetables in this sandwich are delicious and so flavorful! You won’t even miss the cheese and sauce. While here we also grabbed an acai bowl and lilikoi smoothie. The smoothie was so delicious, we had to come back the next day!

I hope you enjoyed my first vegan food guide! If you’re new to my blog, be sure to check out my about page to learn more. If you have tried any of the places mentioned, share your experience in the comments below!
